Chippers


One-day course, (8 hours)

The Chipper class covers disc and drum style chippers. This training focuses mainly on the DSC1317 and the DRM12. In addition, this course covers information on the WC126 and the DSC6 models. Technicians will learn how to safely perform blade changes and disc and drum change and repair. Trainees will also learn about the interworkings of feed control systems.

Overview
This training is designed for the development of technicians by reinforcing best maintenance safety practices and introducing unit specific knowledge. Students will be given the opportunity to learn both the theoretical and practical skills needed to perform preventative maintenance inspections and minor troubleshooting and repairs. Upon completion of this training, students will be able to demonstrate applied knowledge of the chipper’s hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
